Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. Over the past few posts, I’ve been trying to recap the process of building our forever home. We began building in early fall of 2016 and moved in July of 2017. If you missed the earlier posts and want to take a peek, you can do so by clicking here for Phase One, Phase Two and here for Phase Three. In this post I’ll show photos of paint, wallpaper, fixtures and exterior. After months of only seeing dirt and rocks, lumber and wires, dust and debris, it was so nice to finally start seeing pretty finishes!
We chose LP Smartside trim and siding Board and Batten in White for the body and Smartside shake siding in White for the gables. Our windows are Andersen 400 Series Casement in Black. Double front door is from Masonite. We went with a metal roof in Matte Black.
Above: We had a local stucco contractor turn our ugly block foundation into faux brick foundation. I’m still amazed at how convincing it looks! This is a budget friendly option for those wanting the look of brick but don’t want to spend the money on it. I wish I had photos of his process, but I was at work while he did it.
This is how the exterior looks for now. We hope to start adding landscaping next year! Okay so let’s go back inside.Above: Joanna Gaines Magnolia Home Crosshatch String wallpaper in the dining room.
Above: Cole and Son Cow Parsley wallpaper in the master bathroom.
Above: Joanna Gaines Magnolia Home grasscloth in Plain Grass in our master bedroom. I really love the way it turned out. I priced a ton of grasscloth options, and they were just too much money! Joanna’s line of papers are more affordable while still great quality.
Above: Powder room wallpaper is Tree Silhouette by York Wallcoverings.
The three lights above the sink window can be found by this Etsy seller here. I just messaged the seller that I wanted clear glass shades instead of the black shades shown in the listing photo!
You can find my island pendants here island pendants here! I am so happy with them!
The cabinet color is Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore. Wall and trim color is Silver Feather by PPG. I’ll be sure to make a full source list when I post the finished rooms for anyone who might be interested!
Thanks for coming by to check it out. I can’t wait to share photos of the house now that we’ve moved in. While there are still quite a few things that need to be completed, it’s livable and the list can wait. After all, we will be here forever:) xo

Yes! We did do it again! I just love it too much to use a different material! I will share more finished photos soon (even though it really isn’t finished!) It’s finished enough for some pictures. Thanks so much for your comment!! xo

Thanks for sharing. This looks beautiful. We are doing a garage addition and want to use white batten board. We are considering the LP Smartboard vs. the Hardyboard. Wondering how you feel about the quality and results of the Smartboard and if you have any insight to share?
