Raise your hand if you’ve ever wished you had a prettier way to hide and store all of the necessary junk we keep in the bathroom. I’ve swooned over Pinterest images of free standing cabinets in the bathroom for so long.
Here are some of my inspirations for pretty storage in the bathroom:

So pretty, right? When I designed our home’s floor plan, I made a little corner to house a cabinet in hopes that I would find said piece someday.
It didn’t take long to find this Landstrom china cabinet! From the photos, it looks like it was in decent shape, but unfortunately it wasn’t. I would’ve liked to kept the original stained wood finish like all of the inspiration photos, but it was too far gone to save. Plus, our vanity is stained wood and the two different wood tones would’ve clashed.
So, spoiler alert, I painted it:)
Quick run down of what I did:
- Hand sanded the entire piece with 220
- Filled the imperfections with Bondo Glazing Putty
- Sanded again
- Two sprayed coats of Shellac base primer
-
Three sprayed coats of Fine Paints of Europe Hollandlac Brilliant mixed in White Dove

A little 2-for-1 action there! A painted china cabinet plus our master bathroom reveal! We moved into our new home in July of 2017. You can peek at those posts if you’d like here…One, Two, Three, Four.
I’m so behind…I haven’t posted all of the finished rooms yet. *sigh* But I’m gonna do better!

great transformation of the cabinet. I used White Dove also. Love BM paint. I would of never thought to add gold hardware. That is a beautiful touch. Love it!
Thanks for your comment Terrie!!! xo

I know this is over a year later, I love the modern farmhouse shower with the hex tiles. I was trying to replicate the same design for my master shower. Just curious if you know the color of hex marble you used. The wayfair link you posted is currently a deadlink.
Awesome job. Luv it…
I just found your site. Absolutely beautiful bathroom. We built last year, too. Who made the wallpaper?
