Hey guys! Dropping in quickly today to share one of my latest dresser before and afters. This sweet, vintage dresser sat neglected in my shop for a couple of months. It was such a sad, huge brown thing just squatting there. Everyday when I looked over in its corner, I felt pity for it.
Then inspiration started to shed light onto its dusty corner. I swear I could almost hear it whispering, “paint me purple.”
Listen guys, I sort of hate purple. Purple is one of those polarizing hues. People love it or hate it. I was a purple hater!
But this dresser was begging me. Any painters out there feel like their pieces dictate your color choices?? Hopefully I’m not the only weirdo with a raised hand here.
So, I pulled out my Sherwin Williams paint color deck and winced through the purple cards. I landed on the color Spangle. Funny thing, I didn’t hate it at all. In fact, I was so excited to use this color!
To me, this soft shade of lilac is just the most adorable thing. It’s not too pink and definitely not too purple! It also looks fabulous with the original brass hardware. Can’t you just envision this in a nursery? I think it can go from baby girl to teen girl effortlessly! So glad I listened to her silent screams to be purple because I think Spangle suits her brilliantly.

Hi Kayla! Love the piece! What type of paint did you us? Did you use a SW High Gloss or FPoE?
