Hey guys! Since painting cabinetry is about 9o% of what I do….I wanted to switch gears from furniture a little bit and post about these kitchen cabinets I did almost a year ago. This past summer my cousin’s wife, Liz, asked me to paint their cabinetry after their kitchen was remodeled. They did such a great job on their remodel! From the quartz counter tops to the subway tile back splash to the Hickory hardwood floors, it all looked so good. Painting the cabinets was the last thing needed to complete the job! Liz picked out the prettiest shade of gray, it’s Glidden Old Monterey Gray, but I had Sherwin Williams match the color in ProClassic Latex Semi Gloss. Since gray kitchen cabinets are still so trendy right now, I was really excited to use this color! I hope this trend will stick around for a long time because I love it so much!
I still plan on writing out a more detailed post about the steps involved in case you’re interested in painting your cabinets yourself or if you’re just curious to know. For today though, I will just show you some pretty pictures:) PS- Could I get a show of hands who might be interested in a tutorial? Please comment if that’s something you would like to read about!
This before photo was taken after the wall separating the kitchen and living room was removed. The carpenter installed a new pantry area, island, cabinets above the microwave and fridge and crown molding along the upper cabinets.
Can you even believe it’s the same space!? Eric and Liz did a really great job on choosing all of the finishes! Even though this particular job was a full remodel, just painting the cabinets can give you a stunning before & after! I love how bright and fresh their kitchen looks now! Thanks for reading along….remember, leave me a comment if you’d like to read a detailed post on my process, I’d love you forever:) Until next time…

I have been in the process of looking for new cabinets for my kitchen. Nothing wrong with them at all. Just don’t like the wood. Now I think I’d like to paint them. I would like more information on the process or how to find people to do them. This site is great.

In the process of picking paint for our cabinets and would love any tips, tricks, etc.

My tips for picking a cabinet color would be….buy the sample pots of colors once you’ve narrowed your choices down to 3-5 or so. Be sure to review the samples at all times of day and evening!

I actually have just painted my living room and dining room Sutton Place Grey, which is two swatches lighter than the Old Monterey by Glidden!! This is the color I was thinking about doing the kitchen cabinets in, so thank you so much for the pictures!! Do you know what color the walls are next to the cabinets??
