Raise your hand if you can remember wanting a Barbie pink everything as a little girl? I most certainly can!
When my 7 year old daughter told me she wanted a pink bed, I was like “heck yeah, you can totally have one of those!!”
I found the perfect, four post bed at a local consignment store.
(Side note: Is it four post bed or four poster bed? I always say four poster…but I really think that four post is correct…???)
Anyway, this little, vintage four post bed was adorable and exactly what I had in mind. And it was $135. Sold!
I’d reeeally love to show you a before photo of the bed, but unfortunately I either didn’t take one, or I’ve lost it. How annoying. Just imagine this…the bed was dull and brown, the end.
I painted it with Fine Paints of Europe Hollandlac Brilliant in a custom shade I mixed.
Isn’t that the most precious thing you’ve ever seen?!
She loves it so much…and the 7-year-old-Kayla is super jealous:)
The photo below is a really true-to-life representation of the depth and saturation of color! The lighting in her bedroom makes the pink in photos look a tad more orange-y than in real life.
I made the curtains myself with fabric that came from Hobby Lobby. Even though the fabric is filled with fruit and veggies, the scale of the print and the colors made me fall in love with it!
As always, if you want to know more about any of the primers, paints and tools I use when I paint furniture, download The Glossy Furniture Guide for free! It can help you with your next painting project!!
Until next time,

Why would u put the bed against the window when clearly you have a nice smooth flat wall to the right!

Because if I did that, there’d be no place to put the dresser. AND I don’t like a bed shoved into a corner up close to another wall.
