Painting your kitchen cabinets in Revere Pewter is one of the best decisions you can make to update your kitchen. Revere Pewter from Benjamin Moore color is a rich, warm gray that will blend well with any home decor. It will give your kitchen an updated, modern look without having to spend tons of money on new cabinetry! This post discusses how the LRV and undertones of this paint color are perfect for kitchens, as well as some painting tips!
For many homeowners, the kitchen is the heart of their home. It’s where they spend their time cooking and eating, entertaining friends and family, or just enjoying a cup of coffee at the end of a long day. The kitchen can be transformed with an easy paint job- and that’s exactly what I did!
We’ve lived in our new home since the summer of 2017, but I’ve not really shared much of the “finished” spaces room by room here on the blog.
I use the term “finished” loosely because, if I’m honest, my home will never be truly finished to me. It will forever be a work in progress. I could easily point out a dozen things I want/need to do in the kitchen alone.
But, I’m learning that good enough is exactly that: good enough.
My latest kitchen project- painted kitchen cabinets! Benjamin Moore offers a paint color that will make your space shine – Revere Pewter!
My New Kitchen Cabinets In Revere Pewter
Out of all the paint colors I have used to paint kitchen cabinets, this was the one my husband and I both agreed on. We knew it would give our kitchen the warm, modern update we were looking for!
BM Revere Pewter (HC-172) is a rich gray with earthy undertones that will work really well with the style we were going for.
What is the LRV of Revere Pewter?
Revere Pewter has a LRV of 55.51. The LRV is the light reflectance value, which basically tells you how much natural light your paint color will absorb and reflect back into the room.
Typically speaking, higher values are better if you want to use less lighting in a space or need more privacy (i.e . bathroom). Lower LRV paint colors will allow for more light to enter the room and make it brighter.
Revere Pewter has a higher LRV than most other neutrals, making it perfect for spaces like kitchens! We wanted our kitchen cabinets painted in such a way that they wouldn’t absorb too much natural light – we were going for a bright, airy look.
What is the color undertone of Revere Pewter?
Revere Pewter has a warm earthy undertone that works really well with most home decor styles! If you are looking for kitchen cabinets to go with unique decor- this might not be the best option for you.
The blue undertones in this paint color will work well with traditional and modern decor styles, as well as transitional!
What color goes with Revere Pewter from Benjamin Moore?
Revere Pewter from Benjamin Moore works well with white, gray, and other shades of blue!
For my kitchen, I used PPG Silver Feather on the walls and I really liked how it turned out. It turned out perfectly!
You can also pair Revere Pewter cabinets with:
- Fog Mist
- Copley Gray
- Alabaster
- Mindful Gray

Confused by Revere Pewter. The color sample looks so much darker than all the pictures I see of it on cabinets. Am I going crazy?
Kayla says
You’re not going crazy:) paint colors will always look different depending on the lighting. Get a sample of the color, paint it on poster board and view it in your own space for a true sense of the color! xo

Hi Kayla – Did you use RP at full strength? I have a north-facing kitchen without a lot of natural light so thinking it won’t look quite like yours and was considering 75% strength. Just wondered what yours was. Thanks!
Kayla says
its the full formula of RP, not lightened
Mary Bryan Smith says

Hi! Did you lighten Revere Pewter at all on your kitchen cabinets?
Kayla says
The color was not lightened. It’s the full formula of Revere Pewter. xo
K Smith says
Preferring the RP kitchen cabinets versus white. I’m also curious about your backsplash area. I love the simplicity and wondering if it’s covered with a material or is it drywall?
